FANUC ROBOGUIDE V10 Modernizes Offline Robot Simulation

FANUC America announced ROBOGUIDE V10 in June 2025 with a 64-bit architecture, virtual-reality capabilities, improved CAD import and a redesigned user interface. The update targets faster development and a more current workflow for building and evaluating robot cells away from production equipment.

Why 64-bit matters

Robot-cell models can include detailed geometry, multiple robots, tooling, conveyors and process equipment. A 64-bit application can address more memory and better support complex scenes than an older 32-bit workflow. The practical result depends on workstation hardware and model quality, but the platform change removes a common limit for larger projects.

Better CAD import can shorten setup

CAD preparation is often one of the slowest steps in offline simulation. Improved import can reduce conversion work, yet raw engineering models still need discipline. Remove irrelevant internal detail, preserve the correct coordinate system, use controlled revisions and validate collision geometry against the real equipment.

A visually accurate model is not automatically a dynamically accurate model. Payload, inertia, speed limits, frames and process timing must also match the installed cell.

VR is useful when tied to a decision

Virtual reality can help teams review access, reach, operator interaction and maintenance space before equipment is built. It should answer specific questions, such as whether a technician can reach a service point or whether a proposed fence creates a blind area. VR does not replace a formal machine-safety assessment.

Protect the digital handoff

An offline-programming project becomes part of the production baseline. Store:

  • ROBOGUIDE version and installed robot libraries;
  • CAD source and simplified collision models;
  • tool, user-frame and payload definitions;
  • controller software and option assumptions;
  • validation differences between virtual and physical cells;
  • the approved robot backup after commissioning.

When a cell changes, update both the simulation and recovery record. Otherwise the next engineer may program against an obsolete mechanical layout.

Vibocnc view

ROBOGUIDE V10's value is not only faster simulation. It offers an opportunity to connect design evidence, commissioning evidence and maintenance backups. Plants that control those three states can use offline work without losing track of what actually runs on the floor.

Vibocnc supports robot-cell controls and industrial automation parts and provides repair evaluation for drives, boards and related equipment. Preserve software and hardware identities together when replacing a controller component.
