The Mitsubishi MDS-D2-SP2-2020 (MDS-D2-SP2-2020) is a dual-axis spindle drive unit engineered for the Mitsubishi MDS-D2 series in high-precision CNC machinery and multi-axis machining applications. Designed to drive and synchronize two spindle motors from a single compact unit, it delivers an independent rated output current of 4.5 A on axis A and 4.5 A on axis B. The unit operates with a rated supply voltage of 200 V to 230 V AC in the 200 V class (220 V or 230 V AC) via three-phase AC input, or with an equivalent DC bus voltage input ranging from 270 V to 311 V DC. Built to withstand demanding factory floor conditions, the drive features an IP20 degree of protection and is rated for continuous operation across an ambient operating temperature range of 0 °C to +55 °C. By consolidating two spindle axes into one drive module, the MDS-D2-SP2-2020 optimizes electrical cabinet space, simplifies power bus wiring, and supports high-speed machining centers, lathes, and automated milling systems.
